In the fall, WE entered a 4-year framework contract in collaboration with Boligselskabet Sjælland, Danhaus, Mangor & Nagel, Holmsgaard Ingeniører and Plan+Landskab. The contract is based on a new building technique in Denmark that comprises at least 250 common wooden houses with a total budget of 500 mio. kr. The building system uses sustainable materials combined with an efficient construction method and provides a wide range of typologies. This allows the finished houses to be affordable and adaptable for any site.Read More
Celebrating the best technical innovation, design and service from across the worldwide construction and property industries, Build Awards has named Bavnehøj Allé as Denmark's Best Housing Design Project and thereby awarding WE Architecture with the prize as Most Innovative Architectural Design Firm 2018.
The project seeks to set new standards for youth housing through the use of rough and natural materials. The aim is to give a more personalized user experience than the one we see in most new housing settlements. The house is constructed as a concrete building with wood as a predominant visual element giving warmth and rusticness both inside and outside.

This week partner Marc Jay has been invited to sit on the jury at the Bucharest Architecture Annual 2018 in Romania together with Juan Trias de Bes, Yoshihide Kobanawa, Jean-Paul Viguier and Marian Moiceanu.
The theme of this year's competition is 'Public utility' and it has the intention to identify the added-value that architects and architecture bring to contemporary urban life. A wide range of conferences, debates, events and workshops will focus on this direction of analysis during the week.
With this occasion, Marc is giving a lecture on further development of urban areas created in the ‘60s and ‘70s.
